The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a unique summer 4 day garden party that brings together an impossibly heady mix of cars, stars and motor sport ‘royalty. Held from Thursday 13th July through to Sunday 16th July, it creates the largest car culture event that has to be seen to be believed. It is also a great way to build client relationships. With over 200,000 attendees over four days, it offers a prime opportunity to increase brand awarness with some clever Automotive PR.

For people with petrol in their blood, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is a glorious motoring event. It showcases some of the world’s largest automotive brands.

If you’ve never had the pleasure of attending this mammoth motoring spectacular, and want to make every minute count, our Automotive PR team are very much in the know.  They have put together a few suggestions of where you should be heading for, to help you make the most of the event.

Supercar Paddock

This is where you will find all of the beautiful supercars, including Ferrari, Lotus, Aston Martin, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Mclaren, Honda, Nissan, Jaguar, Koenigsegg, Alfa Romeo, Pagani and many more.  This is also, a very popular area.  So if you want a good look, or to get some photos, one of our best FOS Tips is to get there early, before it gets really crowded.

F1 Paddock

Here, you will discover the Formula 1 cars and drivers with some of the big teams such as Ferrari, Red Bull & Mercedes.  This is where you can get really close up with the cars, mechanics and the drivers. It’s also a great place to see under the bonnet’s of the cars when the teams are working on them.

GAS Arena

In the Goodwood Action Sports Arena you can expect to find your favourite daredevil freestyle BMX and motocross riders. Adrenaline-packed thrills and spills are plenty at the home of stunts, tricks and flips. The arena is just a short walk from the Hillclimb. Shows are set to an itinerary throughout the day, so be sure to check out the times.

The FOS Future Lab

The FOS Lab is an unmissable hive of innovation, creativity and technical achievement. And packed with dynamic, hands on, interactive technology, robots and gadgets. There’s enough here to inspire everyone from industry enthusiasts to the next generation of scientists, inventors and explorers.

Grandstand Seats

Grandstand Seats are placed in some prime locations, such as in front of Goodwood House, where the drivers often like to put on a show. They give a great view over the crowds, and a chance to stay out of the weather if needed. These cost extra on top of the standard ticket.  We advise you book in advance or when you buy your tickets to avoid disappointment.

The Hillclimb

The famous 1.6 mile hill climb is the main attraction at Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is where the crowds can watch cars and motorbikes race round the sweeping curves, past the main grandstands in front of Goodwood House, and on to the narrow section as it climbs to the top paddock.

For iconic manufacturers, drivers and race teams, it’s a chance to show off stunning machines and perfect driving skills. But when the stopwatch comes out on Sunday, only a select few will put everything on the line for a shot at glory, and battle for the title of becoming ‘King of the Hill’.

Forest Rally Stage and Top Paddock

The Forest Rally Stage is at the top of the Hillclimb, about 30-45 minutes walk. You can get a tractor ride up to the top, but it does get busy at peak times. Walking is probably easier if possible. You can walk in the woods to see the Rally Cars in action, and walk around the Rally Service Area.

The Top Paddock is a great place to watch drivers show off their skills and some great burnouts & donuts! The highlights here are the Drift, F1 and Supercar Batches. It is also a great place to get autographs from the drivers.
