Russell Quirk, our property expert co-founder argued that landlords have been bashed by successive Chancellors and Housing Secretaries including the repealing of Section 21 and so called ‘no fault’ evictions, the loss of full rate capital gains relief on disposal, the prospect of ‘EPC C’ standards being implemented, and so on.
The result? Landlords and investors will exit the sector (70,000 are reported to have done so already) leading to a huge, additional shortage of PRS stock. Madness.
