Ok, let’s take a look at the latest property market news and stats this month.

First up, that barometer of seller sentiment, the Rightmove House Price Index. This month it showed a slight reduction in asking prices, down 0.3% on May at £378,000 but still up 0.8% on this time last year. This, apparently, is an unusual drop at this time of year however Rightmove stress that buyer demand remains strong, 3% ahead of June 2024.

Fun fact: Rightmove says that May was the busiest month for property sales agreed since 2021.

The reason for the small dip in prices? A hike in sellers coming to market, up 11% annually.

Another fun fact: Homes that attract an agent enquiry on day one of marketing are 22% more likely to sell.
