We learned today that REA has withdrawn its interest in Rightmove, the UK’s number one property portal. This after a series of REA bids that topped £6bn.

The thing is, Rightmove is only worth £4.5bn, according to the City, and so why did shareholders shun the Australians?

Will Rightmove shareholders regret not doing this deal? And can the Rightmove shareholders be perceived to be acting in THEIR own best interests rather than Rightmove shareholders?
